Managing Director at LuCreative, Connor Hodgson spent this past weekend in London, after receiving an invite to a two-day business conference focusing on talent acquisition and business growth.

The exclusive event was invite-only and saw entrepreneurs and business owners from all over the UK travel to London for the national conference. The two-day event took place at the 5-Star Hilton London Bankside on the 27th and 28th January. The meetings were held in the hotel’s Bankside Ballroom, an impressive and versatile space that holds up to 600 people. Delegates gathered at 9:45 a.m. for tea, coffee and snacks to fuel up before the conference got underway at 10 a.m. 

Day one was scheduled for business owners and recruitment professionals, with the objective to help improve the talent acquisition process. The itinerary for the day included eight guest speakers from the advertising, digital marketing, and sales and marketing industries. Each speaker addressed attendees on various subjects which included; changes to talent acquisition in 2018, how to implement changes to drive recruitment, creating a cohesive interview process, how to create a strong personal and professional brand and top tips on building a great online brand for your business. 

On day two, delegates gathered back in the Bankside Ballroom for a 10 a.m. start time. The meeting focused on advice and guidance on growing a business and developing critical players within the company to stimulate business growth. Another group of keynote speakers took to the stage to speak on a range of subjects including; Identifying and developing key individuals to assist with business growth, driving sales, effective meetings to run to boost productivity, top tips to rapidly grow a business, how to have critical conversations and managing finances.

After the second conference came to a close, attendees had the opportunity to mingle during a networking hour. LuCreative’s director, Connor Hodgson capitalised on the chance to speak to many industry leaders, with the objective to make new connections. As a rookie business owner, Mr Hodgson believes that networking is one of the most effective skills that any aspiring professional can master and that building a diverse and robust network can prove to be the catalyst for success.
